19-YEAR-OLD MALE KILLED IN A SHOOTING AT A CONVENIENCE STORE IN WYTHE COUNTY

A 19-year-old male was killed in Sunday shooting in Wythe County. The Wythe County Sheriff's Office reports that deputies responded to the Spirit Convenience Store in the 6800 block of West Lee Highway at just before midnight on Sunday. Deputies found 19-year-old Matthew Blake King, of Rural Retreat, already deceased in the parking lot from an apparent gunshot wound. Witnesses at the store told deputies that a juvenile suspect had fled on foot, and was later found close to the scene and taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
