Five people were hospitalized and charges are pending after a Monday afternoon crash in Johnson County. Tennessee Highway Patrol says the crash happened on Highway 67 near the intersection of SR 67 and Sawmill Lane between Butler and Mountain City at around 1 p.m. Monday. A Nissan Titan driven by 52-year-old Lori Thomas of Henderson, Tennessee, was traveling east when she crossed the center line and struck a tractor-trailer and a Nissan Pathfinder traveling in the opposite direction. Thomas and her two passengers, a 74-year-old woman and a 3-year-old boy were taken to the Johnson City Medical Center and Niswonger Children's Hospital. The 42-year-old woman and 62-year-old man that were in the Pathfinder were also taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unclear, and the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. Lori Thomas has charges pending against her according to the THP.
