A Bell County, Kentucky woman has been arrested after a child was found near used needles. 34-year-old Sherrie Helton of Beverly was arrested earlier this month on the 13th after a welfare check on her 18-month child. Officials from the Bell County Sheriff's Office received an anonymous call saying that they could hear a toddler screaming inside the home, but could not get anyone to the door and that there was no vehicle at the home. When the deputies arrived they noticed the front door open and that the home was cluttered with trash. They found Helton inside standing with a man, another woman, and the toddler. Once the officers were inside after receiving consent, they found that there was an arrest warrant out for Helton and arrested her. The deputies found more than 100 syringes, a metal spoon, shoestrings, and several bags containing what is believed to be crystal meth in the bedroom.  She admitted to possession and using crystal meth, and also said that she, the man, and the toddler all lived in the bedroom where the paraphernalia were found. The toddler appeared to be healthy, but the case was reported to health and family services to open a neglect and abuse case. Sherrie Helton was charged with first-degree possession, buying drug paraphernalia, endangering the welfare of a minor, and was served a bench warrant. She is now being held at the Bell County Detention Center.
