A home was destroyed after a fire in Carter County, Tennessee on Friday morning. The Hampton Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the 600 block of Garrison Hollow Road at 8:01 a.m. The HVFVFD says the tenant was home, but was able to escape without injury. The high winds in the area fanned the flames and caused it to spread and grow quickly. The home is considered a total loss. The Stoney Creek Volunteer and the Watauga Fire Department's assisted Hampton Valley Forge at the scene.
