A Greeneville, Tennessee man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his 14-year-old grandson. The Greeneville Police Department reports that Richard Claridy, of Outer Drive, was arrested and charged with domestic assault following an altercation with several family members, including his 14-year-old grandson. Claridy told officers that he had gotten into a verbal argument with his wife over the discipline of their grandson, whom they have custody of. His wife claimed that Richard had gotten upset because his sister-in-law was in Mrs. Claridy's car. The sister-in-law said that the juvenile was dragged and choked by his grandfather and she attempted to break up the altercation, but Richard then assaulted her, which caused her to be in fear for her life. Officers reported that she had a mark on her right arm from the alleged assault. After gathering all of the information, Richard Claridy was arrested and transported to the Greene County Detention Center without incident.
