A Hawkins County, Tennessee man allegedly attacked a deputy twice with broken glass. The Hawkins County Sheriff's Office reports that at 12:41 a.m. on June 28, Corporal Eric Pease and Deputy Stephanie Bolognese did a welfare check on 39-year-old Burgess Dwayne Murrell of 313 Byrd Creek Road. The officers found Murrell in a vacant mobile home at 289 Byrd Creek Road, where he was reportedly breaking out windows of the residence with two large pieces of glass. Murrell was asked several times to drop the glass and exit the trailer, but he then charged Bolognese and had to be tased twice. He then struggled with Bolognese while she tried to take him into custody and allegedly punched her in the side with a closed fist. He was arraigned on June 29 in Hawkins County Sessions Court and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 10. At the time of the arrest, he was free on a $50,000 bond from a May 31 arrest for aggravated assault.
