A WOMAN HAS BEEN CHARGED AFTER A CAR CRASH LEADS TO THREE PEOPLE BEING SENT TO THE HOSPITAL IN JOHNSON COUNTY
Three people were transported to a hospital and a woman has been charged with DUI after a crash in Johnson County. Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred at just before 6 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 67 near Eggers Road. THP says that a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling west on highway when it crossed the center line and hit a Chevrolet Silverado and then a Honda Prelude, both of which were traveling east. The driver of the Chevrolet, 47-year-old Christopher Mahalia, of Mountain City, and passenger, 23-year-old Lisa Potter, of Mountain City, were transported to the Johnson County Hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the Honda, 19-year-old Cameron Michael Smith Victor, of Johnson City, was also transported to the Johnson County Hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the Volkswagen that crossed the center line was 38-year-old Heather Ellis, of Blountville, she refused medical treatment at the scene and was arrested for DUI, failure to maintain lane and failure to exercise due care.
