![]() A Coeburn man was sentenced to more than ten years in prison on Wednesday. 20-year-old Tyler Zachary Hyatt was convicted for the January beating of his girlfriend and was sentenced on Wednesday to 20 years in prison with nine years and six months suspended after he pleaded no contest in March to aggravated malicious wounding. Hyatt smacked and punched his girlfriend repeatedly before slamming her head against the floor at least two times, resulting in life-threatening injuries. The victim is still recovering from her injuries. The incident stemmed from Hyatt demanding to know where his drugs were. Hyatt will be transferred to the state Department of Corrections and will also face ten years probation when he is released. Comments are closed.
