![]() Daniel Gade wins the Republican Primary in Virginia's U.S. Senate race. Gade, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, received about 67 percent of the vote in Tuesday's election, while his two opponents Alissa Baldwin and Thomas Speciale II received 18 and 14 percent, respectively. Gade has more than 20 years of military service and was injured twice during Operation Iraqi Freedom, with his second injury resulting in the amputation of his right leg. Two Purple Hearts are among the decorations he has received. He has a doctorate in public administration and policy and is currently a professor at American University, in Washington D.C., after graduating from West Point in 1997. Gade will run against Democratic incumbent Senator Mark Warner, who ran unopposed in the Democratic Primary. Comments are closed.
