![]() Everyone in Buchanan County has been accounted for after Tuesday night flooding affects over 100 homes. The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office reports that all who had been unaccounted for have been found. The BCSO adds that no fatalities have been reported and that they are making progress in locating those that are unaccounted for. The damage is still being surveyed, but around 100 to 150 homes have been flooded or washed away. The Virginia Department of Emergency Management reports that nearly ten miles of the county had received significant damage. On Wednesday, Governor Glenn Youngkin declared a state of emergency for the county. An emergency shelter has been set up at Twin Valley Elementary School, at 9017 Riverside Drive in Oakwood.
