![]() Virginia has added an extra $300 in federal funds to unemployment. Governor Ralph Northam's office announced this week that Virginia is preparing to pay the extra benefit and that they are exploring ways to provide an extra $100 allowed under President Donald Trump's executive order. For months now, unemployed Virginians collected $600 a week on top of their state benefit due to federal jobless aid. The federal aid expired at the end of July and negotiations in Congress to extend the aid have collapsed. President Trump did sign an executive order to provide $300 to $400 a week and Virginia is one of several states that will apply for the federal money. Comments are closed.
