A Johnson City man has been arrested after robbing a gas station at knifepoint. The Johnson City Police Department reports that 27-year-old Johnathan C. Bowman robbed the Scotchman gas station on East Unaka Avenue. A clerk at the gas station told officers that Bowman had stolen money from the cash register while brandishing a knife. While en route to the scene, officers saw Bowman near the gas station matching the clerk's description. Officers also found the amount of cash stolen wrapped in a bandanna matching what the clerk had said Bowman wore to cover his face. The knife that had been brandished during the robbery was also found on Bowman. He was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. Bowman was then transported to the Washington County Detention Center and is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
