 71 employees have been laid off at Komatsu Mining in Tazewell County. Joy Global Underground Mining, an acquisition of Komatsu Mining, laid off the employees. According to the Virginia Employment Commission, the layoff took effect on Friday, June 5. The company is located in Bluefield.
