A masked man has been arrested in Johnson City after allegedly illegally possessing a gun and spitting on an officer. The Johnson City Police Department reports that 29-year-old Antonio Watterson, of Church Hill, was arrested after officers responded to the Roadrunner on West Walnut Street where a masked man had reportedly entered the store with a gun tucked into his pants. While investigating officers found that Watterson was in the possession of the gun unlawfully and then he allegedly assaulted an officer by spitting in the officer's face. He was then booked into the Washington County Detention Center and while in the process a small amount of methamphetamine was found on him. Watterson was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a weapon and introduction of contraband into a penal facility. He is being held on a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday afternoon.
