RESIDENTS OF APPALACHIA ASKED TO REDUCE WATER USAGE FOLLOWING MAIN BREAK

Appalachia residents are asked to reduce their water usage following a major water line break early Friday morning. The Town of Appalachia believes that the break in the main line coming from the water plant occurred at around 4 a.m. Friday. The break emptied the one-million-gallon tank in about 90 minutes. Crews are working at the scene to repair the leak, which is believed to take a few hours. The town will be working with the county and health department to submit clean water samples before service can be restored.
