The Tennessee Department of Health's Tuesday update placed the state's number of coronavirus cases at 2,239. There have been 23 deaths and 175 hospitalizations in the state. There are 47 cases in Northeast Tennessee, with 14 in Washington County, 13 in Sulivan County, 12
Greene County, 4 in Hawkins County, 2 in Johnson County, and 1 each in Carter and Unicoi County. Also, on Tuesday three team members at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital tested positived for COVID-19. Ballad Health says that the team members work in direct patient care roles. Ballad is asking anyone who has been inside the hospital on March 20 through March 31 to be especially vigilant for symptoms of COVID-19. The three cases were not reflected in Tuesday's update by the TDH.
