 Delegate Terry Kilgore announces he will run for the Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates. The Republican from Gate City announced on Wednesday that he would seek the position that is currently held by Delegate Eileen Filler, a Democrat from Springfield. It appears the Republicans appeared to be on track to secure a majority in the Virginia House. Kilgore has been in the House of Delegates since 1993 and ran unopposed for re-election this year. He also served as the House Republican Campaign Chair for 2021 elections. Kilgore said, "It is time for fresh leadership and leadership that will keep and grow our new majority."
