tHERE ARE TWO NEW MEMBERS TO THE WISE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD, WHILE TWO OTHERS WERE RE-ELECTED

There were four districts in Wise County who had elections for the county school board. Three of the four had candidates running unopposed. Herb Shortt in District One and Mark Raymond in District won re-election, while Rosiland McAmis was elected to the board for District Two. They all ran unopposed. In District Three, there was a highly contested battle between Stephanie Kern and Lorenzo Rodriguez to represent Big Stone Gap. Kern won with 62 percent of the vote and just over 1,700 votes. Rodriguez finished with just over 1,000 votes.

Results:
District One:
Herb Shortt- 2,255 votes 98%
Write-In- 45 votes

District Two:
Rosiland McAmis- 2,028 votes 94.6%
Write-In: 5.4%

District Three:
Stephanie Kern- 1,733 votes 62.9%
Lorenzo Rodriguez- 1,012 votes 36.7%
Write-In- 11 votes

District Four:
Mark Raymond- 2,450 votes 97.4%
Write-In- 66 votes
