![]() Three people were injured in a Tuesday night officer-involved shooting in Wythe County. The Wythe County Sheriff's Office reports that deputies, Charles Foster and Chris Coleman, and state troopers were dispatched to a domestic situation with shots fired at 586 Whippoorwill Road at shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday. When Foster and Coleman approached the residence, they were shot in the dark. They returned fire, shooting one person. Coleman and the suspect are both currently in serious condition at Roanoke Carilion Hospital, while Foster has been released from the hospital with minor injuries after only being grazed by a bullet. The suspect's name has not been released. Virginia State Police is investigating the shooting and took several boxes of evidence, including at least one gun, out of the house. Comments are closed.
