TWO BIG STONE GAP BOYS BURNED IN U.S. HIGHWAY 23 HOUSE FIRE

Two Big Stone Gap children recovering after being injured in house fire in May. The fire occurred at a home on U.S. Highway 23 South on May 26. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but the house is considered a total loss. 4-year-old Zander Christian and 5-year-old Sebastian Christian were inside the home at with their mother and her boyfriend when the fire started. All who were inside were transported to a Kingsport hospital for smoke inhalation and Burns. The Burns on the two boys were so severe they were transported to Wake Forest Medical Center, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Zander's burns covered 12% of his body, but 51% of Sebastian's body was burned.
