![]() Two people have been arrested after fleeing from officers and throwing saws out of vehicle in Greeneville. Matthew McNutt and Chelsea Cutshaw are believed to have robbed an 81-year-old woman at knifepoint on Wednesday in the 1900 block of Overlook Drive. Early Friday morning, Greeneville police officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Chevrolet car that had been used in the armed robbery and several other thefts. A pursuit then began on Newport Highway and McNutt began throwing items, including a gas jug, a table saw, and two power saws. The Chevrolet then left the right side of the roadway before correcting itself leaving the left side of the road and hit several railroad ties and a house. When officers approached the car, McNutt and Cutshaw ran from the vehicle into the back wall of the house. McNutt was taken to the ground in order to arrest him, while Cutshaw ran into the house, where she was taken into custody. McNutt was transported to Greeneville Community Hospital East in order to be checked out, before being sent to the Greene County Jail. He is charged with aggravated assault and evading arrest, while Cutshaw is charged with evading arrest and reckless driving. Comments are closed.
