![]() Two people were injured and one person was charged in an early Tuesday morning shooting in Erwin, Tennessee. The Erwin Police Department reports that officers were notified about a shooting on Second Street between 1:45 and 2 a.m. Tuesday. Officers discovered that 21-year-old Edward Sargent Jr. fired a gun at a group of people. Two people were taken to the hospital after receiving minor injuries from ricochet shrapnel when a bullet hit off the curve or pavement. Sargent is charged with five counts of attempted 2nd-degree murder and one count of tampering with evidence. The EPD says that the case remains an open investigation at this time.
