![]() UVA Wise is looking for $12 million to expand academic programs and address enrollment in Virginia's budget. The allocated money in the yet to be approved budget will help two undergraduate programs- applied data analytics and hospitality and tourism management. The $12 million would assist in the requirements for faculty and staff, equipment, classroom setups, and lab space. The allocation would also help cover establishment of a childcare center serving the region, along with an early childhood development certification added to the college's teacher education program. There is also money in the budget for two projected graduate programs in nursing and education. The $12 million is part of the college's draft $72.3 million budget, an overall increase of $16 million from last year's budget. Under state law, a budget is supposed to be passed and signed by July 1, the start of the fiscal year. Comments are closed.
