![]() The Virginia Department of Health put the number of COVID-19 cases in the state at 2,637 on Sunday. The VDH says that 51 people have died from the virus, 431 people have been hospitalized, and 23,671 people have been tested. There are now 15 cases in Southwest Virginia with five cases in Washington County, two cases each in Lee, Smyth, Tazewell, and Wythe County, and one case each in Carroll and Wise County. The first case in Wise County is a male resident in his 70s, who is hospitalized. Also, the two EMS workers who transported the man are currently in self-quarantine. The VDH also said that residents should limit their own exposure to the virus and not base the likelihood of contracting it on how many cases surround them. Comments are closed.
