VOLUNTEER HIGH SCHOOL HAS FOOTBALL PLAYER TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID-19, FIRST GAME OF SEASON CANCELLED8/17/2020
![]() Volunteer High School has a football player test positive for COVID-19. Hawkins County Schools report that the positive test has caused all close contacts of the player to enter quarantine as defined by the Northeast Tennessee Regional Health Department and the TSSAA. Those in quarantine will remain there through Friday, with a targeted return on Saturday. Volunteer was scheduled to begin their season this Friday at home against Christian Academy of Knoxville, but that game has been cancelled. Volunteer will now begin their season on Tuesday, August 25, at home against Sullivan South. That game was added due to both schools' first game being cancelled due to positive COVID-19 tests in their football communities. CAK will now play at Daniel Boone this Friday, as Boone was supposed to begin their season at Sullivan South. Comments are closed.
